Halloween 2009

This year for Halloween we traveled to Cache Valley to spend the day with my family. Since moving south 7 years ago we had never been up there for Halloween so we thought it would be fun for a change. We started the day off doing a little trick-or- treating down Main Street in Logan. Most of the shops there were participating. Candy aside, it was just a beautiful day to walk outside and enjoy the surroundings. There is nothing like Cache Valley in the fall! I love how many trees there are and all the leaves on the ground. Brittany Cascio, our amazing photographer friend captured some great moments from the day. Tate as you will be able to tell was a firefighter. He knew as soon as he saw that costume in the store that that's what he wanted to be. Jace, he just said he wanted to be a skater! Basically what he is everyday, but a little more extreme...and with facial hair??? It had nothing to do with the costume, he just thought it would be funny! For the evening events we first popped in to say hi to Grandpa & Grandma. We were welcomed at the door with a fully outfitted Indian. Long braids and all! How cute is my Grandpa? 80 something years old and he still gets dressed up for Halloween!
From there we headed to Lance and Alana's place. We trick-or-treated around their neighborhood and then went back and had some of my mom's homemade chili. mmmmm! Around the block wasn't enough candy for Jace, so he and Brandon headed back out after dinner and filled up the bucket. :) He actually still has quite a bit left, and I haven't even stole one piece!

Here we are!

I figured now was as good a time as any to FINALLY start my family blog! We have had a lot of changes over the past month so I thought it was a good time. So we moved to Layton on August 21 and we are so happy to be here! We love our new home, new neighbors, new school, and of course for me, I like the thought of being an hour closer to Cache Valley. Jace started fourth grade 2 days after we moved in. His school and teachers seem amazing so far. He seems to be making good friends and adjusting better than we ever expected. Tate just thinks it's cool to have his own room! In the last house I kinda took over his room as my bow room so I promised I wouldn't do that. We have the bonus room upstairs so I made that into my bow/toy room so I can work while the boys play. I feel like we are finally in a place where we can be content and not be thinking of where to go next. Brandon is in his last semester at Westminster before getting his MBA. It has gone by surprisingly fast! He works very hard for our family and I am very grateful for all he does. I am just truckin' along doing the bow thing. It keeps me busy every single day, but for some reason I am always wanting more! I know there is only so much these two hands can handle, but I am always looking for that next opportunity to sell my bows. I love doing boutiques and being around fun women. It can be stressful at times, but I love that I can do what I love and still stay at home with the boys. And when I really need a break I can book a party or two and run away for a few hours! :) I can't believe my baby is going to be 3 in 3 weeks from today! He has amazed us at how well he has done, considering such a fragile beginning! He is a little spit fire just like Brandon and I had predicted! We knew that the way he fought in the N.I.C.U., there was bound to be some fire inside him! Well hopefully I will get some pictures posted soon, but for now it's just a paragraph to get us started.
